James A. Dumont, known as Jim to the people who know him best, was born in the Chicago area and later lived in the Hudson Valley Region of New York, whose landscape and sense of place helped influence the name Hudson Hollow Press.
His writing is shaped by curiosity, observation, and an appreciation for the unexpected details that can make familiar places feel new again. Pip and the Garden of Quiet Wonders grew from that perspective and from a desire to create a story that encourages readers to remain curious about the world around them.
